After 13 years as CEO, Dermot Buffini will now serve as a board advisor and international brand ambassador at the well-known real estate coaching company.

Renowned real estate coaching firm Buffini & Company is placing the CEO reins back in the hands of its founder.

Dermot Buffini, brother of the company’s founder Brian Buffini, announced on Monday that he would step down from his post as CEO after a 13-year tenure. Brian Buffini, who first launched his coaching company in 1996, will now take on roles as Chairman and CEO.

“Today Buffini & Company celebrates its 30th anniversary, and Dermot has been an integral part of that journey for the last 26 years,” Brian Buffini said in a statement. “I’m grateful for his impact and his leadership for our organization and excited for this next chapter of growth. Dermot’s leadership has been instrumental in shaping Buffini & Company into the industry leader it is today.”

Dermot helped usher in an era of global expansion and growth for the coaching firm, the statement noted. With the transition, he will move into a role as a board advisor and international brand ambassador. His responsibilities will include supporting international growth, fostering sponsorship and partnership strategies, and scheduling speaking engagements with industry leaders. Dermot will also continue to host The Curious CEO on YouTube, a show in which he interviews CEOs and entrepreneurs that has amassed 115,000 subscribers in less than one year.

“After 13 incredibly rewarding years as CEO, I’m proud of what our team accomplished during a time of meaningful change in the real estate industry,” Dermot Buffini said in a statement. “The new year represents fresh opportunities, and I’m excited to continue inspiring leaders through speaking, international expansion, strategic partnerships and The Curious CEO. Buffini & Company is well positioned for continued success.”

Buffini & Company has trained more than 4 million professionals across 45 countries, and is headquartered in Carlsbad, California.
