Revive has used its findings in the pre-sale renovation space to produce an extensive white paper dedicated to proving the value of updating a home before selling it, a strategy often recommended by agents.

Revive’s 38-page report, “The Power of Presale Renovations: Transforming Properties for Maximum Market Impact and ROI,” found that sellers see an additional profit of $145,000 after a home update, among other benefits.

The company produced the paper with data from 1,200 pre-sale renovations.

“This substantial increase can significantly impact a family’s financial future, potentially funding retirement, education, or serving as a foundation for generational wealth,” Revive said in an April 2 statement made available to Inman ahead of release.

The paper reports an ROI average of 112 percent and a home value jump 28 percent as a result of a strategic renovation. The company does make clear that individual market metrics impact its service end-result, and that it’s important for sellers to consider what parts of a home need to be updated. For instance, a primary bathroom re-do may outperform a dining room makeover.

Every home has its problem spaces, and the intent is to create a home that is as “move-in ready” as possible, according to Revive’s white paper, which determined that nearly 80 percent of millennial homebuyers prefer move-in ready listings.

“This 2025 report represents a paradigm shift in how sellers and their agents should approach their property sales process,” said Dalip Jaggi, co-founder of Revive Real Estate, in the press release. “By quantifying the impact of presale renovations upfront, agents can help homeowners unlock hidden equity in their home that will increase their final sale price — and often fundamentally alter the financial trajectories of their lives today and for their loved ones tomorrow.”

The white paper is free for anyone and should provide agents a dependable resource for those who are working with sellers who could benefit from a strategic pre-sale renovation.

Last fall, Revive also made its Revive Vision AI tool free to the market, a tool for virtually predicting a home’s value after a renovation.

Revive Visions AI was released initially in 2023, at which time the company said its tool “analyzes property photos to assess a property’s current value and renovation potential, utilizing Revive’s renovation recommendation engine to provide estimates backed by local contractors that maximize listing values.”
